Simple solutions for Simon’s recurrent low back pain

Simple solutions for Simon’s recurrent low back pain

Recurrent low back pain was a regular occurence for Simon. His pain would flare up on short breaks or trips away from home and would affect time with his family. Simon had tried “low back stretches” from the internet and had been to NHS physiotherapy. In fact, he had put up with his pain for so long, he considered it normal.

Suffering with low back pain does not have to be your normal

Here’s what Simon had to say:

I had been struggling with recurrent lower back pain, which when flaring up caused discomfort with standing or sitting unsupported, or when walking slowly.

Simon seeks solutions

I decided to seek advice from Nick on identifying the underlying factors which were causing the flare-ups to see if I could avoid them occurring in future.

Flare ups would commonly affect me when sleeping in unsupportive beds, so tended to cause problems when staying away from home, on short breaks or holidays.

Whilst the pain would never stop me doing anything it would affect my enjoyment of these times.

Re-evaluating and reinventing normal

Nick helped me recognise patterns in my movement which were contributing to the periodic flare-ups of my back pain, and the reasons for these.

Had I not seen Nick I would still be unaware of the underlying cause of my issue.
