Knee surgery post op rehab

Knee surgery post op rehab: Jane, a dentist and keen horse rider gets back into the stables following a major fall off a horse

Jane suffered a serious fall from her horse resulting in a traumatic injury that required invasive surgery and knee surgery post op rehab. In the beginning, Jane vowed that she would never go near a horse again. Jane inquired with her surgical team regarding private physiotherapy and they sent her in my direction

During her recovery, I guided Jane to find solutions to her mobility and functional problems as well as restoring confidence in her physical ability.

Jane sent me the picture of her and her horse, Abacus a couple of months after her last session. This picture speaks a thousand words….

Here’s what Jane had to say:

“Following a fall from my horse and subsequent major surgery to repair my leg and knee, I was finding the limitation in movement affecting my daily life.

I could not climb stairs easily, crouch down or even run across a road. Having been fairly active, this massively affected my confidence and made simple things like looking after our dogs tricky.”

“Being around horses, let alone ride again seemed untenable”

“I found NHS physio very prescriptive with exercises given being way beyond my ability at that time (which was very disheartening) and the gaps between appointments meant that I felt I needed more help to get back to where I wanted to be. I wanted further help and asked my surgical team for a recommendation…”

“my orthopaedic consultant recommended Nick for further post op rehab I haven’t looked back!”

“Nick instantly put me at ease and over the following few months my mobility increased steadily with
exercises that I could easily incorporate into daily life. Months of hobbling around had made everything go off kilter, and Nick patiently worked with me and tailored exercises to get me back on track.

Now I can move around much more easily, I can crouch down and am enjoying being around horses again- I have even arranged to get back in the saddle!”

“I cannot recommend Nick highly enough”

“…and am very grateful for how far I have come under his care.”
